Curacao Review

Who needs Aruba when there's Curacao? Seriously though, my Curacao vacation has got to be one of the best vacations I've ever been on. Out of all of the ABC islands Curacao by far is the best one. At least in my opinion. Not only are the beaches absolutely stunning, but Willemstad is an absolute must. I don't usually recommend spending too much time in cities while vacationing in the Caribbean since they tend to be crowded and super hot. Although Curacao gets a number of tourists it is not as tourist infested as other popular destinations like Jamaica, the Dominican Republic, or Aruba. It has just the right amount. Take a stroll along the Queen Emma Bridge in the downtown center of Willemstad. After doing that you should check out the big Curacao sign in the city center.

Willemstad has so many beautiful dutch colonial buildings. What makes them even better is the fact that they come in a variety of vibrant colors. It feels like a more colorful version of Amsterdam. When you visit Curacao you definitely have to check out the beached on the northern coast of the island. They are absolutely gorgeous! They border the edge of dramatic cliffs that offer scenic views of the ocean. The water is as turquoise as can be and is definitely the highlight of the whole experience. I also recommend checking out some of the beaches that are close to the city limits because they offer restaurants with delicious food and great music.

Another must is to dine outside in the city center during the weekends in order to catch a live music performance. The music in Curacao is a vibrant mix of Caribbean, Latin, and African influences. This makes for some very funky music. Lol

The wildlife is another reason to checkout Curacao. The sea aquarium is a must especially if you want to participate in feeding the dolphins, sea lions, and sharks. There are also dolphin and sea lion shows where you get to watch them show off their skills. Btw they're super cute! After that you can help feed the flamingos. If you can't get enough of flamingos you should visit the Flamingo National Park. For big bird lovers I highly recommend the Ostrich Farm.
